Become a Spanish Teacher
The path to become a Spanish teacher is a challenging but rewarding one. No matter what level of Spanish you wish to teach, the meaningfulness of your education and the cultural lessons you will spread will be of great significance. Really, for any level of Spanish teaching fluency is a must. This can be obtained through your own education, and a major in college or university is a good place to start. Consider not only courses in Spanish, History, and Literature, but also education classes which can help prepare you for being on the other side of the classroom.
The next consideration is what kind of Spanish teacher you wish to become. There are positions in middle schools all the way through graduate school. Public schools are facing an increasingly difficult time finding funding and unfortunately some language programs are the first to be cut. Consider this when making your decision. University professors generally need doctorates in their field in order to obtain an appointment, but lesser schools may hire you with only an undergraduate degree and your certification.
